How to host a play party

A play party is a private night you host. Guests see who is coming, say yes or no in private, and every match where you both said yes is revealed.
What it is
A play party is one invited room. Each card is one person: one photo and one name. Their own partner is never a card. The group chat opens when someone joins, so they can talk before the door.
You check people in. Matches stay hidden until you open them. When you do, each checked-in guest sees every mutual match at the same moment. A one-sided yes stays hidden. There is no single Play Partner for the whole room.
Adult only. Private by design. You confirm they are 18 or older. There is no public guest pool.
What it is not
A key party reveals one Play Partner for the room. A speed date sits guests in timed rounds, and the card is a couple.
A no is never shown as a no. A bed is not a yes. Soft or full is the ceiling for the night, not a room you assign. Same room or a separate room is where bodies are. On premise or off premise is the address of play. Couples only or an open room is who you invite.
The night in order
Pick Play Party before you promise anyone a time. The steps below are the whole night. Skip one and the room will invent the missing rule in the hallway.
- Open the party and write the rules in your own lines.
- Invite people you know, or take applications and approve them.
- Guests make a profile and say yes or no in private.
- They chat with the room before the party.
- You check them in at the door. Only you check people in.
- You open the matches. Every match where you both said yes is revealed.
Invite, or take applications
People you already know get one private invite link. Send it by text or DM. Ask them not to post it. The street stays off that message until you release it.
New people can apply. Post an apply link where they already look. You read each application and you decide who comes. An application is not a seat. The invite link and the apply link are different. Do not post the invite link.
The share kit has posts and graphics a couple can read before they ask to come. Those words are for them. Your notes on the promote page are for you.
Write the rules before they swipe
One line is one rule. Say the dress, the phones, and which rooms are off limits. Guests agree before they swipe. If you edit a line, they agree again.
Say the room shape in the invite, not as a surprise at the door. A straight room, a bi-friendly room, or an open room is the shape of the night, not a fourth kind of party. An open room can include singles. Partners are never cards for each other.
Set a swipe deadline before the party starts. Guests can change a yes or a no until swipes lock. Partners can compare swipes before that lock. Either person can turn sharing off, and it stops for both.
The door is yours
The street stays hidden until you release it. Guests can see a place name earlier, so they know the neighborhood. Say the street once, as the host, when you mean to. Do not put it in the group chat.
Each guest has a code and a QR pass. Guests cannot check themselves in. A co-host can use the dashboard. A co-host cannot delete the party or remove you. Message host is a private note only you and the co-hosts see. Guests do not message each other in private.
If someone would rather sit out, they tell you. You do not check them in. Sitting out is a complete answer.
Walk it once before a real link
A test party lets you play as a guest, including either partner. Test parties do not send email, push, or reminders. Use one to check the rules, the chat, and the moment you open the matches.
If the list is short, host a smaller night or move the date.
FAQ
Are play party cards couples?
No. Each card is one person, one photo and one name. Couple cards, with both names and one photo, are for a speed date.
Is there a reveal for the whole room?
No single Play Partner. You open the matches, and each checked-in guest sees every mutual yes. A one-sided yes stays hidden.
Who checks people in?
Only the host. A code and a QR pass are for the list. Guests cannot check themselves in.
Can I post the invite link?
No. Send the invite link only to people you already want in the room. Post the apply link if you want new people to ask, and you decide.
