How the night runs
Agree on the format before you agree on what to wear. Hilo can run any of the three, and they are different nights.
Key party. Before the party, each person says yes or no in private to one photo and one name. You never answer about your own partner. When the host starts the reveal, phones wait about ten seconds. The room sees one person, and only if both of you said yes.
Key partyPlay party. You still say yes or no in private. Matches open when the host checks that guest in. The room does not share one reveal.
Play partySpeed date. You meet each couple for about five minutes. As a couple you say yes or no. Either partner can answer, and either can change it until the host starts the next round. A match needs both couples to say yes.
Speed date
Privacy and safety
Do not put a Hilo address in the group text. The host releases the street when the list is ready, and not while the invite is still open.
You confirm you are 18 or older before you answer. Only the host checks you in. A one-sided yes is not announced to the room. Adult only. Private by design.
What to expect
Hilo International Airport is east of downtown.
You do not drive here from Honolulu or from Kahului.
FAQ
Which format should a Hilo host pick?
The one named in the invite. A key party reveals one match for the room. A play party opens matches at check-in. A speed date is short rounds, then yes or no.
Is there a public guest list for Hilo?
No. Searching Hilo does not add anyone. The host sends one private link per couple.
What should the first text say about Hilo?
Hilo International Airport is east of downtown. Keep the street out of that text.
When do guests get the address in Hilo?
When the host sends it. A place name can come earlier, so people can judge the trip. The street waits.
Are there upcoming public parties in Hilo?
Hosts post public parties for Hilo on this page. You see the date and the area. The street stays hidden until the host sends it.
How does a private party work in Hilo?
The host invites you. You say yes or no in private, and a match needs both sides. The street stays hidden until the host sends it. Only the host checks you in.
