Adult only. Private by design.
What is a play party

A play party is a private room where you say yes or no in private, and every match where you both said yes opens when the host checks you in.
The short answer
A play party on Pineapple Play Date is one of three nights a host can run. Your host invites friends. You still say yes or no in private. Mutual matches are revealed when the host checks that guest in. There is no room-wide Round 1, and no single Play Partner for the whole room.
That is the whole difference from a key party. A key party shows one person, one photo and one name, to everyone at the same time. A play party lets the matches open as people arrive. You can meet more than one couple you both said yes to. You still never see a person you said no to.
Adult only. Private by design. You confirm you are 18 or older. The host still checks you in. A living room and a low light do not make the door public. Search can find this page. It cannot find the street.
The list comes first
The host invites friends they'd love to have there. A play party starts with names, not with a public calendar. One private link per couple. A plus-one does not get a link of their own. If you are not sure about someone, do not send them a link.
Say the shape of the room in the first text. Couples only, or an open room that includes singles the host picked. Straight, bi-friendly, or open. Visitors will guess if you do not say it. Locals will assume they already know. You will not see your own partner as someone to pick.
A place name can show early, so people can judge the drive. The street, the floor, and the door code wait until you are ready for them to come over. Email says Your event, or a public-safe name. The real party name stays in the app. Group chat is one room, for the timing, not for the address.
How the night runs
Pick the format before anyone leaves the house. All mutual-yes matches are revealed, whether that happens together, at check-in, or after the short rounds. A play party is the middle one. A house or a suite you control can hold that. A bar cannot.
- Key party. Before the party, each person privately picks who they would like to play with. You will not see your own partner as someone to pick. At the party, every match where you both said yes is revealed at the same time. You see one Play Partner: one photo and one name. No one is paired with someone they did not pick.
- Play party. You still say yes or no in private. Mutual matches are revealed when the host checks that guest in. There is no room-wide Round 1.
- Speed date. You meet each couple for about five minutes. As a couple you say yes or no. Either partner can answer, and either can change it until the host starts the next round. A match needs both couples to say yes.
What opens at the door
Before the party, each person privately picks who they would like to play with. You will not see your own partner as someone to pick. At a play party, those private answers sit until the host checks that guest in. Then the mutual matches for that guest are revealed. There is no speech, and no card the whole room reads together.
All mutual-yes matches are revealed at check-in. A one-sided yes stays private. You are not paired with someone you did not pick. If both of you said yes, you can see that.
Only the host checks people in. A door code and a QR pass are for the list. Guests cannot check themselves in. A code in a text is a code that gets forwarded to someone who was never discussed. In a high-rise, that someone is already in the elevator.
Say the room before you say play
Play party does not tell you the ceiling. Soft or full is how far sex can go. Same room or a separate room is where bodies are. On premise or off premise is whether play happens at that address. None of those is implied by the word play. Write the line you mean. Guests pack for the sentence you actually sent.
A meet and greet can be clothes-on and social. A play party is the night where mutual matches can become play. If you want drinks and a conversation, say that. If you want a room where yes can turn into touch, say that too. Mixing the two without a sentence is how someone arrives dressed for the wrong evening.
Couples only means the host invited couples. An open room can include a single the host picked on purpose. A unicorn is not a surprise seat. If one half of a couple is ready and the other is not, that is not a yes. Wait until you have heard from both of them.
It is not the other two nights
A key party wants one shared gasp. Everyone looks up at the same time and sees one Play Partner. That is a beautiful night when the list is short and the room can hear itself. It is the wrong night if you want people to move through more than one match. Do not call a key party a play party because the word sounds softer.
A speed date wants a clock. You sit, you meet, you answer. The card is the couple: both names and one photo. A match needs both couples to say yes. Either partner can answer, and either can change it until the host starts the next round. That is a different evening from roaming a house.
You can like all three. Pick one for the night you are actually hosting. The invite should name it in the first line, so people know whether to expect a reveal, a check-in, or a table.
How to host one
Write the names first. Couples you know. A single only if the room is open and you picked them. Keep it short if the trust is short. A full house with someone who is still unsure is a flatter night than a smaller room where everyone came ready.
Send the link a few days out, with the format, the day, and the shape of the room. Leave the street, the floor, and the door code out of the text. House rules are one line each. Dress, phones, which rooms are closed, soft or full, what a no means. Guests agree before they swipe. If you edit the rules, they agree again.
A test party lets you walk it as a guest before anyone real is invited. Test parties do not send email, push, or reminders. Walk through check-in before you do it with friends. You should see a mutual match appear when you check a guest in, and you should see nothing when the answer was one-sided.
How you get into one
You get in because a host sends you a link. You do not get in by searching the city, by putting a sign on a rental, or by asking a stranger in a comment for the address. A play party that can be found by walking up is a different product.
When the link comes, read the format before you pack. A key party, a play party, and a speed date are three different nights. If the invite is vague, Message host. That note is private. Decline on Tuesday if the night is wrong for the two of you. Saying no in a hallway puts that conversation in front of other guests.
If nobody has invited you, host the people you would actually let in. The comparison with other apps is simple. Those products help people find each other. This one runs the room after the list exists.
FAQ
What is a play party?
A private invited room. You say yes or no in private. All mutual-yes matches are revealed when the host checks that guest in. There is no room-wide Round 1.
How is a play party different from a key party?
A key party shows one Play Partner to the room at the same time. A play party opens each guest's mutual matches at check-in. Both nights only show a yes that went both ways.
What gets revealed?
All mutual-yes matches are revealed when the host checks that guest in. A one-sided yes stays private. Only a match where you both said yes is revealed.
Can singles come?
Only if the host invited them and said the room is open. A couples-only night does not grow a seat for a friend of a friend.
When do guests get the address?
When the host sends it. Before that they can see a place name. They do not get the street, the garage, or the room.
Who lets people in?
Only the host. Guests show a door code or a QR pass. They cannot check themselves in, and they cannot check each other in.
