A first time with another couple is the night two pairs play together under a rule they already said out loud. Soft or full, same room or a closed door, watching or joining: pick it on the couch, not in the hallway.

Write the line before you go
Soft usually means the night stops short of intercourse with anyone but your own partner. Full means intercourse is allowed only with a mutual yes, and either person can stop. Same room or a closed door is a separate choice. Say all three.
If you have not agreed, this is the wrong night to find out. A speed date is often the milder first door. A play party can hold the ceiling, but roaming makes drift easier. A key party shares one reveal and one set of rules.
In the room
Greet the host first. Use the names you were given. You do not need a speech about how new you are. A short hello is enough.
Ask, then wait. If the other couple says no, thank them and stay in the room you were invited to. Do not follow anyone into a closed room. Do not take the question to the group chat.
If one of you wants to stop, you both stop. Tell the host if someone will not hear it. You leave when you said you would, or earlier.

No. A mutual yes is permission to talk and to ask. Either person can still say no.
