Telling friends you are in the lifestyle

Some friends can hear it. Some should not. You and your partner decide together, before anyone else does. You can also choose not to tell anyone at all.
The short answer
Telling friends is a choice, not a step you owe the night. The two of you agree first. Then you pick one person, or you pick no one.
A friend who knows does not become a guest. The host still invites the people they want in the room. Your host invites friends. The host invites friends they'd love to have there.
Adult only. Private by design. You confirm you are 18 or older. The host still checks you in.
Choosing not to tell
A private night can stay private. Silence is a complete answer.
- You do not owe a friend the story because you share a group text.
- A vague plan is enough. Dinner, then home. You do not fill the gap.
- If someone guesses, you can say you would rather not talk about it.
- The two of you use the same line, so one of you does not improvise.
- Skipping the talk is still a decision you made together.
If you do tell one friend
Pick the person who can keep a small fact small. Tell them the shape, not the map.
- Agree with your partner on the one sentence before you say it.
- Say you go to a private party. Stop there if that is enough.
- Do not name other guests. Do not describe who did what.
- Do not send the street, the door code, or a photo from the room.
- A friend who wants to come still needs the host. Your yes is not an invite.
After you have said it
Check in with your partner the same day. If the friend pressed for names, that is new information. You can close the topic and leave it closed.
If you wish you had not said it, you do not add more detail to fix the first sentence. You tell your partner, and you stop.
FAQ
Do we have to tell our friends?
No. You can keep the night between the two of you. Choosing not to tell is a full plan.
Who should we tell first?
Each other. After that, one friend you both trust, or nobody. Do not start with a group chat.
What do we leave out?
Other guests' names, photos, the street, and the door code. The friend does not need the map.
Can that friend come to the party?
Only if the host invites them. Telling a friend is not an invite.
What if we disagree about telling someone?
The quieter answer wins. If one of you wants it kept quiet, you keep it quiet.
