If you’re like most, you’re wondering how to meet other people to swing with. One of the most common ways is to attend a swingers “meet & greet”. These events tend to be low key and give you the chance to mingle with many different people in a relativity short period of time. There’s no pressure, and typically there isn’t any on-premise sex taking place.

Here you’ll have the chance to meet people who are highly experienced in the lifestyle all the way to people that are just starting out. You can ask questions, learn more about things you wonder, and even exchange information for a chance to get together at another time. Most of the time you’ll end up leaving wishing you had gone far before you did.

Meet & Greets are held in various locations. The best way to find them is through social groups like Pineapple Play Date, through online swinger sites like SDC, or by asking other swingers where they go. You’ll find these events are generally held in vanilla venues. This helps to ease the anxiety factor for newbies. It’s also sometimes fun to pineapple in public without being full on obvious about what’s happening. In addition to public venues, they are sometimes held in private settings – although this variety tend to be invite only.

Should I dress down or to the nines? Our recommendation is to always dress in a way that makes you comfortable, but also in a way that would get the attention of what you’re seeking. For us, that means on the sexier side. Not quite what we would wear to a club or party, but certainly not like we’ve been lounging around in all day either. Do your hair, makeup, shave, and choose clothes in a way that make it clear you’re trying. Use breath mints, gum, or other items to stay fresh… even a splash of cologne (but not too much). It’s all about being confident & putting your best foot forward. Remember, first impressions live forever.

Once we arrive, what do we do?! This can be the toughest part for many. The first thing to remember is that everyone is there for the same reason. You’re literally there to meet other people whom you may have a sexual connection with. With that in mind, we think the best approach is to walk up to everyone you can to say hello. Find the first person that appears interesting and walk up to tell them it’s nice to meet them. Make a simple compliment or even ask the lady where she got her dress. If a couple looks like they’re scared to be there, approach them and say something like “Is it your first time? We were so nervous when we first came….”, things like this quickly open conversation. Swingers tend to be extremely welcoming and friendly. Trust me when I say you’ll be just fine.

Like anything else in life, swinging takes effort. Much more in the beginning than later. Once you’ve been to a few meet & greets you’ll find you have a whole new awesome group of friends. These are people who you may just share things in common and never sleep with, or they may be friends whom you enjoy wild times in the bedroom. Either way, it’ll be due to you stepping out of your comfort zone and into a wonderful world of authentic new friends.
